Privacy Policy

  • Dai Nippon Toryo Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our”) recognizes the importance of protecting information on people that it currently retains, or will retain in the future, which can possibly be used to identify the person (“personal information”), and takes the following actions to properly and duly protect personal information.
  • 1.We pledge that when we handle personal information*1, we strictly comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, other laws and regulations applicable to the protection of personal information, and this Privacy Policy, and fulfill the obligations stipulated in the guidelines of the Personal Information Protection Commission.
  • 2.We handle personal information by specifying the purposes of its use to the greatest possible extent, and only within the scope of the purposes of use specified below, unless we have obtained the prior consent of the person concerned*2 or the personal information is treated as an exception under the law:
    • (1) Personal information about our customers and business partners
      •  ・To sell or provide our products or services.
      •  ・To conduct questionnaire or research surveys about our products or services.
      •  ・To respond to questions about our products or services.
      •  ・To provide information about our products or services or send invitations to seminars or exhibitions.
      •  ・To develop, modify, or improve the quality of our products or services.
    • (2) Personal information about our shareholders
      •  ・To enable shareholders to exercise their rights and carry out their obligations under the Companies Act.
      •  ・To provide a range of benefits (e.g. a range of shareholder benefit programs).
      •  ・To implement a range of schemes for shareholders (e.g. questionnaire surveys).
      •  ・To manage matters related to shareholders (e.g. create shareholder data).
    • (3) Personal information about job applicants
      •  ・To provide information to job applicants and perform tasks relating to recruitment operations.
  • 3.We may use cookies to provide better services. Cookies are functions that store information about the use of our website by the person concerned on their computer, and do not infringe their privacy or adversely affect their computer.
  • 4.We will use fair means to collect personal information. Unless the personal information should be treated as an exception under the law, we will publicly announce the purposes of its use in advance, notify the person concerned of the purposes of use, or publicly announce the purposes of use as soon as we collect the personal information. When we collect personal information directly from the person concerned in writing, we will specify the purposes of use in advance.
  • 5.We will endeavor to keep the personal data we handle*3 accurate and up-to-date within the scope of the purposes of use, and take the necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of the personal data as well as other measures to safeguard it. We will conduct necessary and appropriate supervision of our employees*4 and contractors.
  • 6.We will not provide personal data to any third party without the prior consent of the person concerned unless it should be treated as an exception under the law.
  • 7.We will respond to any request made by the person concerned, under relevant laws, for the disclosure, correction or discontinuation of use of their personal data we retain *5.
  • 8.We will take swift and appropriate action in response to any complaint about personal information we handle from the person concerned, and endeavor to improve our internal system for this purpose.
  • 9.We endeavor to continuously improve this Privacy Policy by carrying out appropriate internal audits of the personal information we handle.
  • *1 “Personal information” means information about any living individual which can be used to identify that specific individual.
  • *2 “Person concerned” means a specific individual who can be identified by their personal information.
  • *3 “Personal data” means personal information constituting a personal information database, etc. “Personal information database, etc.” means a collective body of information which contains personal information and is specified by a cabinet order as having been systematically organized so that specific personal information can be easily retrieved via, for example, an electronic database.
  • *4 “Employees” means our officers, employees, and temporary workers.
  • *5 “Retained personal data” means personal data which is authorized to be disclosed or corrected, and which is not data prescribed under the law as likely to harm the public or other interests if its presence or absence is made known.
