R&D, innovation for New Age Coatings
Originally, DNT's contribution started in the field of corrosion protection technology using organic coatings. Now, new functional material design, new system of coating technology, and a variety of technology based on DNT's potential have been developed.
DNT has always a target to develop up-to-date technology and products in the business of the paint and the chemical industry.
DNT recognizes that paints are not only coloring materials but also functional materials equipped with "anti-corrosive", "anti-fouling" properties and so on.
Recently, DNT has been researching fundamental technology which closely relates to environmentally friendly technology, new materials, functional materials and coating technology.
Research Development Department
The Research & Development Department belongs to the technology division and covers the fundamental technology in coating fields and surrounding coating fields.
This Research Laboratory made up of four groups.
The three fields of analysis and physical property, polymer material design and resin synthesis, and anti-corrosion paint and corrosion research are studying about the common fundamental theories of coatings to develop new technology in concert with the coating divisions.
We are developing basic technology for new business and challenging to new fields.
Analysis and Physical Property
This group makes full use of the most advanced analytical techniques and equipment for the elucidation of the nature of materials. This group researches film and paint rheology using computer simulation.
Anti-corrosion Paint and Corrosion Research
DNT has been carrying out the research on corrosion protection with organic coatings for a variety of environments with many successful results.DNT has traditionally been good at these fields.
This group is developing environmentally friendly anti-corrosion paints and long term durable heavy duty coatings for the next generation.
This Group focuses on the research of corrosion theory in order to support the development.
Polymer material Design and Resin Synthesis
This group carries out the developments of new materials and high-performance polymers for paints. and the research of a polymer science for a bright future.
This group studies new resins for the protection of the environment.
Research Planning
A new business is expected to be created form the development of new technology and future needs in the market.
This group investigates and searches to find new themes and to make plans.
