Jul. 1929 | The Company is spun off from Japan Storage Battery Co., Ltd. and established as Enpun Toryo Co., Ltd. with 500,000 yen in capital. |

Aug. 1929 | The Company acquires Abe Paint Seisakusho in Osaka and reorganizes it as the Osaka Factory. |
May 1936 | The Company carries out an absorption-type merger with Asahi Lacquer Seisakusho in Yokohama and launches the Yokohama Factory. Changes its company name to Dai Nippon Toryo. |
Sep. 1946 | The Company builds a discharge lamp factory in Hiratsuka. |
May 1949 | The Company has its stock listed on the Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto Stock Exchanges. |
Aug. 1958 | The Company builds a factory for organic fluorescent pigments and fluorescent paints in Ofuna. (In Jun. 1959, the factory becomes an independent company under the name of Sinloihi Co., Ltd.) |
Jul. 1962 | The Company builds a coatings factory in Komaki, which now stands as the Komaki Factory. |
Apr. 1966 | The Company spins off its division for paints for home use to form Sunday Paint Co., Ltd. |
May 1968 | Nitto Service Co., Ltd. is established to help streamline logistical operations. |
May 1970 | A joint venture is established in Thailand under the name of Thai DNT Paint Mfg. Co., Ltd. |
Oct. 1972 | A joint venture is established in Singapore under the name of Bonntile-DNT Industries (S) Pte. Ltd. (In July 1991, it is renamed DNT Singapore Pte. Ltd.) |
Oct. 1975 | The division for coatings and environmental engineering is spun off to form Nitto Engineering Co., Ltd. |
Apr. 1988 | The Company relocates and builds a coatings factory in Otawara, Tochigi Prefecture |
Oct. 2001 | The Company merges with Tanabe Kagaku Kogyo Co., Ltd., which possesses excellent technologies for automotive and plastic coatings. |
May 2003 | Dai Nippon Toryo Mexicana, S.A. de C.V. is established in Mexico. |
Jul. 2006 | Nitto Chemical Co., Ltd. is established. It takes over the anticorrosive coatings business from Nippon Steel Chemical Co., Ltd.(now:NIPPON STEEL & SUMIKIN CHEMICAL CO., LTD.) and begins operation in Oct. 2006. |
Nov. 2007 | Thailand-based Thai DNT Paint Mfg. Co., Ltd. is reorganized into a consolidated subsidiary chiefly by purchasing additional shares. |
Aug. 2009 | DNT Service Co., Ltd. is established to undertake toning. The sales divisions of Nippo Electric Co., Ltd. and of Daia Keiko Co., Ltd. are transferred to DN Lighting Co., Ltd. |
Jul. 2010 | A joint venture under the name of Lilama3-Dai Nippon Toryo Co., Ltd. is established in Vietnam. |
Apr. 2013 | A merger of three companies that deal in lighting equipment, with the surviving company renamed DN Lighting CO., Ltd. |
Jun. 2013 | DNT Kansai Mexicana S.A. de C.V., a joint venture with Kansai Paint Co., Ltd., is established in Mexico. |
Jan. 2015 | A joint venture with Kuboko Paint Co., Ltd., which is a consolidated subsidiary of Kansai Paint Co., Ltd., is established under the name of Japan Powder Coating Manufacturing Co., Ltd. |
Aug. 2018 | Established DNT (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd. in China. |
Aug. 2019 | Relocated head office to Chuo-ku, Osaka |
Jun. 2020 | Opend Coating technology Center inside the Komaki Factory in Komaki, Aichi Prefecture. |
